Winston Churchill will in the years to come be remembered most of all as the man who was Prime Minister of Britain during he Second World War.  Bt he had made good his foothold in history long before that conflict.  For forty years he had been a well-known public figure, a statesman who had held a record number of different cabinet offices, an author of several massive historical works which were acknowledged as masterpieces, and beyond all this, a vivid and picturesque personality about whom violent controversy raged.  He had many admirers, if few followers; and even his bitterest opponents admitted his brilliance, however little they trusted his judgment.

Condition:  Used.  Hardcover.  No dust cover.  Covers shows a bit of wear.  Inside covers and pages are tanned from age.  There's a darkened spot on inside front cover and front endpaper from newspaper clippings on Churchill.  Previous owner's name is written on front endpaper.  Binding is in beginning stages of splitting throughout the book, but pages are in tact.  Previous owner has keepsakes and newspaper clippings tucked in various places in the book.
