This cookbook has no indicator of date published. I’m sorry to say that I found Rev Farrell’s obituary on-line (a copy of which is below) and learned that he was Pastor at this church 1982 until 1990, so this cookbook is during that time period..
Recipe book measures approx 7-1/4”x almost 8-3/4” with 60 pages, plus Table of Contents and many additional misc pages of cooking tips, hints and charts and blank pages to write in recipes. Cookbook includes a real-photo of church for posterity and illustrated drawings on each food category title page of recipes contained. Cookbook is full of typed-format recipes, no local advertising filler, and with approx 38 different contributors, you KNOW there is a good variety of MANY good recipes! SAMPLE RECIPE(S)
Date Delights
1/2 lb butter
2 cup chopped nuts
4 cup rice krispies
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 (8 oz) pkg dates (chopped fine)
1 can (4 oz) flaked coconut
Dash salt
2 cup light brown sugar
10 X sugar
Melt butter slowly. Add sugar, dates, coconut. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 6 inutes. Add nuts, krispies, vanilla and salt. Mix well. Make into balls and roll into 10 x sugar.

Sausage Cabbage Soup
2 lbs loose sausage
2 onions, chopped
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
3 tbsp white vinegar
1 cup boiling water
4 lbs cabbage, shredded
Brown sausage, add onions, tomato sauce, vinegar and boiling water. Simmer for 30 minutes. Add more water if desired, add cabbage and cook 30 minutes more or until tender.

Sicilian Dinner
1 lb ground hamburger
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1-1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 cup or 1 chopped pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
3/4 cup water
1/4 tsp pepper
1 (8 oz) cream cheese
2 cup cooked noodles
Brown meat; add onions, green peppers, tomato paste and water, salt and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes. Heat milk, cream cheese, blend well. Stir in parmesan cheese. Alternate sauce above and noodles and cheese and sprinkle with parmesan cheese on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Three Layer Pretzel Salad
First Layer:
2 cup crushed pretzels (not too fine)
3/4 cup melted margarine
3 Tbsp sugar
Mix and place in 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake 8 minutes at 400 degrees. Cool.
Second Layer:
1 (8 oz) cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 quart Cool Whip
Mix and spread over pretzels. Seal all edges. Refrigerate until firm.
Third Layer:
2 boxes strawberry jello
2 cup boiling water
2 (10 oz) frozen strawberries
Mix together. Let stand 10 minutes. Pour over cheese mixture. Chill.

Rev. William J. Farrell
YORK Rev. William J. Farrell, 87, went home to be with the Lord at 1:15 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2008, at Manor Care South. He was the husband of the late Laura A. (Thomas) Farrell. He was born September 11, 1920, in Barnsboro, a son of the late Joseph and Lovell (Woodside) Farrell. Rev. Farrell graduated from Spangler High School in 1940. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 990th Ordnance for 40 months. He was stationed in Alaska Highway for 17 months and Okinawa for nine months. Pastor Farrell was honorably discharged in January, 1946, from Fort Knox. He had been one of the six remaining soldiers in his organization. Rev. Farrell was a 1949 graduate of Eastern Bible Institute, Green Lane, Pa. He became an ordained minister in 1952 and served 58 years as a pastor and evangelist for the Assembly of God. He began his pastoral journey at Lock Haven Assembly of God for four years, during which time he helped build the church. From there, he moved to First Assembly of God, Meadville, serving from 1952-1955. In 1955, Pastor Farrell began his service at Rohlers Assembly of God, Dover, and remained there until 1976. During his tenure at Rohlers, a new church was built. He was then called to pastor First Assembly of God, Cleona, from 1977-1981. In 1982 he returned to the York area and served as pastor of Manchester Assembly of God until 1990. Then in 1995, Rev. Farrell became visitation pastor of First Assembly of God, York, until 2007. Pastor Farrell served for seven years on the Board of Directors for Teen Challenge, Rehrersburg, and three years on the Board of Directors for the Fairview Retirement Community, Lewisberry. He also served as an advisor to the Women's Aglow Organization in both York and Lebanon. Rev. Farrell was a former director and advisor to the Christ Ambassador Youth Organization for 12 years, and a former Home Missions Director of the PennDel District for four years. He had also been the secretary of South Central East Section for two years. His love for the community led him to serve as a chaplain at York County Prison for a number of years. Rev. Farrell is survived by a daughter, Erma J. Durham and her husband; two sisters, Eileen Glunt of Baltimore, Ohio, and Joann Davis of New Cambria, Pa.; eight nieces; four nephews; and 15 great-nieces and great- nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Margaret Brown; and two brothers, Hughie Farrell and Ethan Allen Farrell. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the viewings from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God, 2270 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Christian Life Assembly, 2645 Lisburn Road, Camp Hill. The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Christian Life Assembly. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Prospect Hill Cemetery with veteran's honors presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating will be the Rev. Dwayne L. Campbell, pastor of First Assembly of God, York, and the Rev. Philip Bongiorno, Superintendent Emeritus Penn-Del Assembly of God Organization. Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God, 2270 N.
