You are buying a pre-viewed, ORIGINAL VHS movie, The Three Stooges - In The Sweet Pie and Pie.
Besides the title short, a pun on the hymn, "In The Sweet Bye and Bye", also includes the Stooge shorts, "Phony Express" and "Playing the Ponies".
In the first short, "In The Sweet Pie And Pie", the boys are convicted murderers on death row. A trio of wealthy women, Tiska, Taska, & Baska Jones are due to inherit a large sum of money, but only if they marry before the deadline! Fortunately for them, their attorney has a plan...they marry the three convicts sentenced to death, and they get the inheritence while the convicts are put to death. A flawless plan...except for one minor detail. The real criminals confessed, setting the Stooges free! Now they return to their new wives!
The problem is the three sisters never wanted to marry the Stooges to begin with, so now they need to find a way to get rid of them. Fortunately, their lawyer once again has a plan. The sisters will throw a fancy society party with all their friends. When the Stooges inevitably embarass them in front of their friends, they can have grounds for divorce.
However, in the end, as the sisters say to their lawyer, "[his] little plan...it worked beautiful!"
In "Phony Express", the Stooges are three vagrants who happen upon the town of Peaceful Gulch. Unbeknownst to them, with the town overrun by criminals, the mayor has used the Stooges wanted poster (decades before photoshop!) and mixed it with the poster of famous lawmen, implying that the Stooges are famed lawmen coming to clean up the "riff-raff" in the town! Will the ruse work?
In "Playing the Ponies", the Stooges are restaurant operators. However, they're not very profitable restaurant operators. The service stinks and the food isn't so great. Not only that, but Curly keeps eating the profits, too! The Stooges need to find another get-rich-quick scheme, but those kinds of things don't just fall on your lap...or do they?
When one of their customers is trying to sell his old, broken down race horse, he overhears the Stooges complaining about the restaurant business, and he and his friend think they have found a sucker. Or a trio of suckers. Implying that their horse is a champion, he fools the Stooges into selling their restuarant for the horse.
Well, even a Stooge can figure out when they've been swindled (eventually), and now they need to figure out what to do with a horse. When feeding the horse what Curly thinks are salted nuts he pocketed from the restaurant before leaving, they find out the answer. The "salted nuts" are actually pepperinos...hot peppers. VERY hot peppers. Now, the Stooges figure out that the key to contendership with the horse is just to feed him some hot peppers right as the gun goes off!
Have the Stooges finally found the key to doing something right?
