Movie Description
1. Richard Petty Story - Richard Petty plays himself in this action-packed film biography. Darren McgGavin is Richard Petty's father, Lee Petty, who won the World Champion Racing title three times.
2. Death Race 2000 - More delightfully sick humor from Bartel (EATING RAOUL). In a boorish future, the government sponsors a popular, but bloody, cross-country race in which points are scored by mowing down pedestrians--with bonus points for the elderly! Five teams, each comprised of a male and female, compete using cars equipped with deadly weapons. Frankenstein, the mysterious returning champion, has become America's hero, but this time he has a passenger from the underground resistance. A legendary cult film.
3. Angels as Hard as They Come - Jonathan Demme wrote this inventive satire of biker movies. The standard road fare culminates in a gang fight in a ghost town. ANGELS HARD AS THEY COME features Busey's debut and an early Scott Glenn role.
4. Evel Knievel - The life of daredevil motorbike rider Evel Knievel is dramatized and brought to the screen by director John Badham (WAR GAMES) with this TNT TV movie. CSI star George Eads plays the intrepid and fearless Knievel, slipping into the trademark red, white, and blue jumpsuit with consummate ease. Some of his death-defying jumps are shown in all their glory, while Knievel's private life is shown as a rags-to-riches story which saw quite a few ups and downs due to his lust for partying.
5. C.C. and Company - an honest grease monkey (played with "aw-shucks" good-naturedness by football legend Joe Namath)--is thrust into the rapacious world of hog-riding when he joins a hell-bound biker gang, The Heads, in 1970's C.C. AND COMPANY. Shortly after his induction into the sleazy club, he averts the gang rape of Ann McCalley (Ann-Margaret), a fashion reporter sent to cover a motor-sports event. Ann and C.C. are on their way to falling madly in love, much to the chagrin of Heads leader, Moon (William Smith). Mayhem and an adrenaline-pumping, high-stakes race across the desert ensue.
6. Killing Cars - Ralph Korda, a developmental engineer, has made automotive history with his "Worldcar," a car which runs without gasoline. Nations are dying for a piece of the action and will go to any length to get it. Also known as "Blitz."
