Greenburg spent months researching this novel, riding with New York homicide cops, participating in the capture and interrogation of homicide suspects, attending autopsies of their victims, and interviewing pathologists, criminologists, judges, and FBI agents who specialize in the study of serial killers.  The gritty authenticity of his detail makes this book crackle like the finest investigative journalism.
